We respect your privacy. You can browse quotes completely as a guest without creating an account. When you register, we only collect essential info (name and email) to sync your bookmarks, likes, and custom creations across devices. We never sell your personal data.1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and information collected automatically to ensure the reliability and security of the application.
A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: When you register an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored strictly using salted cryptographic hashes), and language preference (Hindi or English).
- User-Generated Content: Quotes you bookmark, like, write, and graphic designs you create within the Udaan Creation Studio.
- Images & Photos: If you upload a custom photo to use as a quote background, that image is securely processed to generate your quote graphic and stored on your account so you can access your saved designs.
- Customer Support Inquiries: Any information you provide when contacting our support team via email or support forms.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device & Log Data: Basic device information such as device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, and network request logs for performance monitoring and security rate-limiting.
- Purchase & Subscription Data: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed directly through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your credit card, debit card, or UPI financial credentials. We only receive verification tokens confirming active entitlement.
2. Device Permissions Used
Udaan requests the minimum necessary permissions to deliver its features:
- Internet Access (
android.permission.INTERNET): Required to fetch daily quotes, sync your bookmarks, and deliver online templates from our API. - Photo Library / Media Access: Requested only when you intentionally select an image from your device gallery to use as a background for your custom quote creation. We do not access photos outside of the specific file you choose.
- File Provider / Sharing: Used temporarily to export rendered quote images so you can share them directly to WhatsApp, Instagram, or other apps.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data strictly for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Udaan application.
- To synchronize your bookmarks, liked quotes, and saved graphic designs across your devices.
- To enforce rate limits and safeguard our servers against unauthorized access and abuse.
- To verify subscription status for premium features through Google Play.
- To respond to your support requests, inquiries, and bug reports.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data only with trusted service providers necessary for app operations under strict confidentiality agreements:
- Hosting & API Infrastructure: Secure cloud servers hosting our backend (
https://api.udaan.softmaco.com/). - Google Play Services: For application distribution, crash diagnostics, and Google Play In-App Billing management.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or governmental regulations.
5. Data Security
We implement robust technical and organizational security standards to safeguard your data:
- All communications between the Udaan app and our servers use TLS/HTTPS encryption (HTTP/2).
- Authentication tokens are stored locally using Android Keystore-backed secure hardware storage (via
flutter_secure_storage). - Passwords are never stored in plain text and are protected using industry-standard cryptographic hashing.
6. Data Retention and Deletion Policy
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide you with the Udaan service or until you request its deletion.
Account & Data Deletion Guarantee

Upon account deletion, your auth tokens, bookmarks, likes, custom quotes, uploaded photos, and designs are permanently destroyed. Billing audit records (if any) are anonymized in compliance with tax and financial record-keeping laws.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Udaan does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at support@softmaco.com, and we will promptly remove the information.
8. International Users & Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Union under GDPR or California under CCPA/CPRA), you have rights including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
